Easy Recipe for a Kid-Friendly Mocktail

kid-friendly-mocktail.jpg

When I was a kid, I remember my parents would always let us have sparkling apple cider for special occasions, like holiday meals or on New Year’s Eve. My mom would pour it over ice in a fancy water glass with a straw, and us kids thought we were the coolest little people on the block sipping our sparkling drink. It’s the little things like this that can add a fun, special touch to festive celebrations. Now with 5 kids of my own, I haven’t strayed far from the need to keep things simple.

Whether you’re celebrating the holidays or throwing a party, having festive drinks available for your guests is a must. What if you have little people (AKA - Kids) as your guests? Including a kid-friendly mocktail in your celebrations is an easy way to let the little ones join in on the party fun. Or if you’re like me and putting kids to bed by 8pm on New Year’s Eve, you can still have a cheery celebration that is completely kid-friendly.

With just a handful of ingredients, you can easily put together a mocktail that both adults and kids can enjoy during a party celebration.

Check out this simple and delicious non-alcoholic drink that is family and kid-friendly: the Cranberry Pineapple Mocktail. My own spin on a childhood favorite pastime that pleases the taste buds of adults and kids alike. Not only is this drink delicious but it’s nutritious, too! Did you know that 1-cup of unsweetened pineapple juice offers over 25 mg of immune-boosting and heart-healthy Vitamin C? That is 100% of the recommended daily intake for kids! Now that is something you can toast to with this mocktail.

To Make a Cranberry Pineapple Mocktail

All you need for this Cranberry Pineapple Mocktail is:

Ingredients

  • 4 cups sparkling cranberry flavored fruit juice cocktail blend

  • 2 cups unsweetened pineapple juice

  • 1/2 cup fresh fruit, such as cranberries or crushed pineapple

  • Ice for serving

  • Large pitcher or punch bowl

Directions:

  1. Mix sparkling cranberry juice blend and pineapple juice together.

  2. Gently add in fresh fruit and stir to combine. Pour in glasses and serve over ice!

  3. To make individual servings, just mix two parts sparkling cranberry blend with one part pineapple juice.🍍

Don’t forget to break out the fancy water glasses and colorful straws for that extra special touch.

This is also an easy and fun way to get your kiddos involved in the kitchen! Let them help you put this together by pouring the ingredients into a large pitcher or punch bowl, stirring everything together or adding in the fresh fruit.

That's all there is to this refreshing drink - Enjoy! How will you be toasting the holidays with your little ones?
